A small automated cargo container cars can be provide to transport cargo to and from cargo terminals within urban areas. Such containers could be used for moving cargo over the MicroRail guideway network from cargo terminals to retail centers instead of trucks. This capability reduces the need for some large truck traffic on urban streets, roads, and freeways. Special guideway sidings at retail centers can allow delivery direct to such centers.
